The History of Inquisition with its evolution from time to time is a story that shows how the Maltese people were living at that time. It was a time of fear and intolerance. The Maltese people were scared by Inquisition and instinctively despised this tribunal. But on the other hand some were convinced that there was fairness in the process thoroughly.

This book includes full-colour images Appendixes of Medieval Malta Inquisition as well as a fully-detailed Bibliography together with Repertories & Printed Documents.

Alexander Bonnici (OFM Conv) has also published some detailed history books on various towns and villages in Malta and Gozo. Besides publishing a ''Universal Church History'' in sixteen volumes and a ''Patrology'' in four volumes
he is best known for his books on the Inquisition Tribunal in Malta. A summary of his three volume work in Maltese is published with the title ''The Tribunal of the Inquisition in Birgu (Malta)'' but a more detailed volume appeared in English at the end of 1997 (but dated 1998) entitled ''Medieval and Roman Inquisition in Malta''. The Reverend Dr Bonnici has been also asked to write the foreword to several historical books by various authors.
